Today, State Senator Lindsey Williams, along with Representatives Adam Ravenstahl and Sara Innamorato, announced a state grant of $2.2 million for Ross Township.
The Multimodal Transportation Fund grant will pay for new sidewalks on Siebert Road from McKnight Road to Woodland Road and a second southbound left-turn lane on McKnight Road and additional receiving lane on Siebert Road.
“This grant will help alleviate traffic at a dangerous intersection and provide better access for our local fire departments,” said Senator Williams. “I was pleased to support this project that protects our first responders and pedestrians.”
“This is great news for all of Ross Township,” said Representative Ravenstahl. “Connecting residents to McKnight Road in a safe manner will have a positive impact on the local economy. I was happy to support this project and thank Governor Wolf for this investment.”
“This is an important project for people who live in Ross Township, and I am thrilled that PennDOT has chose to invest in this project to address this dangerous intersection,” Innamorato said. “Thanks to this grant, safety and traffic issues at the intersection will be vastly improved, and the additional sidewalks will help increase the walkability and livability of our community.
The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the commonwealth.
Funds may be used for the development, rehabilitation and enhancement of transportation assets to existing communities, streetscape, lighting, sidewalk enhancement, pedestrian safety, connectivity of transportation assets and transit-oriented development.
